Your transcript stays in your browser.

What the extension processes

• After you click the extension, it temporarily reads the active YouTube page to locate caption tracks.
• It retrieves the caption track you select directly from YouTube in your current browser session.
• Transcript parsing and TXT, SRT, VTT, or JSON file generation happen locally on your device.

What is stored locally

Your format preference, timestamp preference, a random installation identifier, and your Stripe Checkout license identifier are stored in Chrome's local extension storage. You can remove this local data by uninstalling the extension or clearing its stored data.

Payments and licensing

Payment is handled on Stripe's hosted Checkout page. Stripe may collect payment, billing, and contact details under its own privacy policy. The publisher never receives or stores full payment-card details.

To create checkout, verify a purchase, restore access, and enforce the three-device limit, the extension sends only its random installation identifier and Stripe Checkout session identifier to the dedicated license service. It does not send YouTube URLs, video titles, channel names, captions, transcripts, browsing history, or downloaded files to that service.

Technical records and retention

Cloud infrastructure necessarily receives standard connection metadata such as an IP address and request time. Limited operational and security logs may be retained under the infrastructure provider's configured retention settings. They are not used for advertising or behavioral analytics. Stripe retains payment and license records as needed to provide access, process refunds, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations.

Sharing, sale, and use limits

The publisher does not sell personal data, use extension data for advertising or credit decisions, or permit humans to read transcript content because transcript content is never received. Data use is limited to providing and securing the extension's single stated purpose.

Security

The extension contains no remotely hosted JavaScript. Stripe credentials remain in encrypted server-side secret storage and are never shipped in the extension.
